Boutique Communications goes Widgety!
Boutique Communications has been chosen to do the public relations for Europe’s first widgets conference, Widgety Goodness 2007.
Widgety Goodness 2007 will explore the concept, applications, and implications of web-widgets for marketing professionals concerned with media, brand and advertising.
Widgets have experienced explosive growth over the past year, particularly through blogging and social network sites such as Facebook and MySpace. Widgets allow users more freedom to choose what content they deliver, effectively opening up a whole new medium through which to deliver marketing messages to consumers.
With companies such as Google, MySpace and Facebook already knee-deep in the widget wars, this event will deliver precious insights into what these things are, how they work, and why it’s so important to work with the widgetized web!
Speakers will cover widgets, gadgets, platforms, OpenSocial and the social graph from a commercial perspective. Keynote speakers include Chris Cunningham, widget dynamo and founder of WIMA (Widget Interactive Marketing Association), and Yahoo!Personals’ Susan Mernit. Other notable speakers include Ankur Shah from Techlightenment, columnist and blogger extraordinaire Russell Davies, and Colm O'Connor from Joost. Topped by an after party hosted by TechCrunch, this event promises to be filled with all the information you need to get to grips with widgets!
